The Rose of Tralee International Festival is one of Ireland's largest and longest running festivals. It is based around the selection of the Rose of Tralee, an international event that celebrates young women of Irish descent from Ireland and around the world.

The Texas Rose Center was established in 1985 and has been proud to send a representative of the Lone Star State to the festival.  Every year Texas chooses our own Rose, a woman (aged 18-28) of Irish descent that not only can trace, but also understands, appreciates, and loves her Irish ancestry. Texas Roses are independent Texas women who are smart, compassionate, authentic, confident, and outgoing, yet humble.
The woman chosen as the Texas Rose will travel to Tralee, Ireland to be part of the International festival. As the Texas Rose, she will attend a variety of Irish charity and fundraising events throughout the state during her year as the Rose. Becoming the Texas Rose is an honor that is fun, exciting and a once in a lifetime experience.
